We are much more powerful beings than we give ourselves credit. The mind is an amazing thing. It can imagine things never before imagined. It can solve seemingly unsolvable problems. It can overcome obstacles like a knife cutting through butter. It can literally heal our bodies.
Our minds can be our biggest strength and weakness at the same time. It all boils down to what we think and how much we think it. Really, it’s that simple in principle though it does take a little bit of practice in reality.
If we continually think negative thoughts of low self-worth, low self-esteem, guilt, fear, sadness and etc., our lives are subpar. We don’t feel good. We lose our motivation. Our creativity drops. We tend to see the “bad” in things and events around us. Basically, our life sucks.
It doesn’t have to be that way. By training our minds; by choosing the thoughts we think (yes, it’s possible), we can literally lift ourselves out of a hole. We learn to turn our thoughts away from what we don’t want to think. But, what you can’t do is to tell yourself to not think about something. That only focuses your mind even more on the thing you don’t want. You have to completely focus on what you want to think and think those thoughts. It’s more like replacing one thought for another. You distract yourself from the negative thought by thinking something else entirely.
